Fion Handmade Welsh-Inspired Sustainable Quilted Gilet | Artisanal Knitwear

The Fion gilet is made using a new technique, a knitted quilt stitch, this was inspired by my research into Welsh quilts made in the 1930s. Created on my hand-powered domestic knitting machine, the pattern is filled with sheeps fleece, making this garment 100% bio-degradable. Made from 100% British wool, each yarn can be traced back to individual farms. The pattern is created to mimic a traditional cable design but in a new and modern way.

• All the yarns I use are from the UK and from farms that practice good animal welfare standards, regenerative, or organic methods.
• These yarns are breeds specific to promote the 62+ native sheep breeds that make up the largest range of sheep breeds in the world.
• These garments are made in London, using local hand knitters and my own domestic knitting machine.
• This style is made to order so please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery.
• This garment measures approximately 55cm in body length.
• Offered in two sizes – S/M and M/L.
