Fiona Handcrafted Neolithic-Inspired Sustainable Quilted Gilet
£475.00 – £495.00
The Fiona gilet is made using a new technique, a knitted quilt stitch, this was inspired by my research into Welsh quilts made in the 1930s. This quilt stitch is created on my hand flat knitting machine, using sheep’s fleece to fill the pattern. This swirling pattern is inspired by a Neolithic design from 3000BC, the time Sheep can be identified to of inhabited the British Isles.
- Made from 100% British wool, each yarn can be traced back to individual farms.
- All the yarns I use are from the UK and from farms that practice good animal welfare standards, and regenerative, or organic methods.
- These yarns are breeds specific to promote the 62+ native sheep breeds that make up the largest range of sheep breeds in the world.
- These garments are made in London, using local hand knitters and my own domestic knitting machine.
- This style is made to order so please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery.
- This garment measures approximately 55cm in body length.
- Offered in two sizes – S/M and M/L.
